Studio City Backs Fix for Streetlight Backlog

The Studio City Neighborhood Council voted 9 to 4 to support a city report on fixing the streetlight maintenance backlog, with one abstention.
The motion directed the council to submit a Community Impact Statement on Council File 25-0125.
The Bureau of Street Lighting report covers the streetlight maintenance backlog, copper-wire theft and vandalism, system hardening, preventive maintenance, and field capacity.
Board members Kesara Borirak, Victoria Brown, Daniel Fuselier, and Matt Thompson voted no.
Kim Clements abstained.
Discussion at the August 26 meeting addressed the causes of the backlog, theft and vandalism, replacement parts, outsourcing, and the purpose of supporting cost-effective improvements.
