Studio City Council Backs LA28 Zero-Cost Charter Rule

July 2, 2026 · Neighborhood Councils

The Studio City Neighborhood Council voted 9 to 0 to support writing a zero-cost rule for the 2028 Olympics into the Los Angeles City Charter.

The motion supports Council File 15-0989-S66, which asks the city to prepare charter language ensuring the City shall not incur unreimbursed costs associated with hosting the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The motion also states no Legacy Fund shall be established until the City is reimbursed.

The board asked that any report back be held for at least four weeks before going to the City Council so neighborhood councils can review it and submit comments.

Dimitri Gatsiounis abstained from the vote and Andrew Epstein was absent.
