Encino Hears Call to Shut Down Whiteman Airport

Supervisor Lindsey Horvath called for all operations at Whiteman Airport in Pacoima to cease immediately after a plane incident at the airport.

Her office also sent a letter to the FAA calling for suspension of all flight operations pending completion of a federal safety review.

The office said it would report back to the council on the FAA's response to the letter.

The Encino Neighborhood Council heard this update from a representative of Supervisor Horvath's office at its June 24, 2026 board meeting.
