Encino Council Backs LAPD Crime Mapping Fix

August 5, 2026 · Neighborhood Councils

The Encino Neighborhood Council voted at its July 22 meeting to advocate for LAPD to restore crime reporting data to CrimeMapping.com.

The website stopped receiving data from LAPD in March 2024, according to the motion.

The council voted to prioritize advocacy through official letters, emails, and Community Impact Statements.

Public comments from the president or public safety committee chair are also part of the effort.

The motion passed the Public Safety Committee 4 to 0 before coming to the full board.
