Arleta May Turn DWP Lots into Canterbury Path

The city is considering converting Los Angeles Department of Water and Power lots along Canterbury Avenue in Arleta into a walking path, according to remarks at the Arleta Neighborhood Council board meeting on May 19, 2026.

Councilmember Imelda Padilla of CD-6 told the board the city is considering how to use DWP lots to create a space to improve the community.

Padilla said DWP is looking at its own identity based on community complaints and suggestions for how to better present its role in the community.

No vote was taken at the meeting.
